Cultivating Relationships: Human and Divine

How can I encourage other people to like me more?

People don't like you because of your intelligence, talents, skills, beauty, possessions, or power. People like you because of how they feel about themselves when they are with you. If they like who they are when they are with you, they will always want to be with you.

The person who gives, experiences their own heart rising in waves of love. The person who receives, has the power to enhance the giver's experience of overflowing love, by receiving graciously. So, who gives the greatest gift: the one who gives objects, information or service, or the one who gives the opportunity for expansion, and refinement of the precious experience of loving? Both givings are valid.

When we give to others, we are really giving to ourselves, for giving allows the heart to flow.

Anyone in a human form has achieved the incredible status of a creator in the field of the relative. Even if the reality they have created is not to our liking, it is a huge accomplishment to bring the existence of Divine Being to the point where it manifests as the expression of life. Therefore everyone is great, everyone is the incarnation of Divinity.

Reflection is the nature of all of the four subtle levels of the body. Therefore, when we see others in the light of their full potential, as an expression of the Divine, the Divine in us reflects back. This refines and uplifts who they know themselves to be. This benefits both giver and receiver. Most of all, it will keep them coming back again and again to find their true self in the eyes of love.

I have heard many people use the term divine grace. What does that mean to you?

Grace is an abstract concept. When we are dealing with the abstract, the challenge is to not get bogged down in syntax. Ultimately, familiarity is gained by repeated exposure. So, the intention alone to become familiar with divine grace will lead to knowing it experientially.

When I experience grace through my Being, it feels like a combination of love, compassion, and luck, the blessings and forgiveness of God, all that is good.

Grace is stable due to the synergistic relationship of the qualities of which it is comprised. Grace is not just a feeling, it is a function. It connects God's love and understanding to situations and circumstances. It is the medium through which a tender impulse of feeling becomes a tangible expression of life.

How else can I cultivate this divine grace in my life?

When you are drifting off to sleep, or at other quiet times, you can allow your expanded awareness to associate itself with divine grace which is present in every particle of creation. Your field of light, your consciousness, can expand and open to receive this Grace. Imagine that you are receiving or soaking it into every atom in your self, in all places and at all levels. Doing this feels amazing; it brings peace to the body and mind.

If you do this before falling asleep, it blesses the sleep process and you will find that everything goes better the next day. You will find yourself living in a stat of being at the right place at the right time. Most of all, you will appreciate the very best in yourself, enjoying your own company, and caring for yourself as the most precious expression of the Divine, which is what you truly are.

With love,
Dorothy
